Dermal Filler Malaysia: Prices and Reviews 2023

In Malaysia, dermal fillers treatment is gaining popularity and could be as common as getting your hair done. This could be due to the selfie culture and the advancement of smartphone camera technology.

If you are looking to find the best aesthetic clinic for your dermal filler procedure, you may wish to check out related reviews and prices from customers who 'have been there, done that'. Most customers will rely on 'word of mouth' referrals and Google Search to decide. There's more to this than meets the eye.

Injectables are for professionals. Do not attempt on your own!

It is getting common for beauty salons and spas to offer injectable treatments such as dermal fillers to customers who frequent their premises. Please be informed that only trained and qualified medical professionals are authorised to administer injectable treatments like dermal fillers. The aesthetic physician should also have a license known as LCP (Letter of Privileging and Credentialing) for aesthetic procedures from the Ministry of Health of Malaysia.

Basics of Dermal Fillers

Check out the common terminologies below so that you can have a better discussion with your doctor.

Readers and publishers tend to have problems differentiating between the various types of injectable fillers.

  • Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Prevelle Silk, Hydrelle, Belotero, Ultra Plus, Voluma, Perlane)
  • Collagen-Based Fillers (Cosmoplast, Cosmoderm, Evolence)
  • Semi-Permanent Fillers (Sculptra, Radiesse)
  • Permanent Fillers (ArteFill)
Non-surgical nose job (nose fillers) is a medical procedure in which injectable fillers, most commonly hyaluronic acid ones like Restylane and Juvederm or calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), are used to alter and shape a person's nose without invasive surgery.
Chin fillers is a medical procedure in which injectable fillers, most commonly hyaluronic acid ones like Restylane and Juvederm, are used to augment a person's chin without invasive surgery.

Jawline filler is used to give a slimmer, more defined jawline.

Under the guidelines on aesthetic medical practice, only doctors with credentials (LCP Chapter 1,2 and 3) can inject dermal fillers in Malaysia.

“Beauticians can be hauled up by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) if they portray themselves as doctors or they carry out procedures that only doctors can do under the guidelines on aesthetic medical practice,..."

Dermal Filler Malaysia Price

The average cost of dermal filler in Malaysia is about MYR 2,000 per ml/syringe.

It usually takes two syringes for the nasolabial areas [smile lines], one syringe for the lips, and two syringes for under the eyes.
  • Nasolabial areas (both sides): about MYR 4,500.
  • Upper lip: about MYR 2,500.
  • Under eye filler (both sides): about MYR 4,500.
Some centres may offer 'cheap' dermal fillers but how do you know that the fillers are not fake? Check out this article from the Star Media: Beware! Fake fillers can wreck your Face

When choosing an aesthetic doctor for dermal filler injections, remember that the doctor's experience is just as important as the final cost of the procedure.
The total price you are paying would normally include the doctor’s fee, the cost of the filler and the cost of the local anesthesia. Most original and branded fillers come in the form of a pre-filled (1ml) syringe. An inexperienced doctor, may use up more fillers and may cost you more.

Which Dermal Filler Do I Need?

With so many dermal filler products on the market, it can be difficult to know which option is best for you without an experienced cosmetic doctor’s guidance. Each product is uniquely formulated to have a certain texture, density, and injection depth, which means that certain fillers work better for certain areas of concern. While your provider will determine what product is best for you, the following diagram illustrates in general where cosmetic doctors tend to apply certain products:

Which Juvéderm product is right for me?

Juvéderm is actually a collection of multiple products:
  • Juvederm Volite provides clinically proven dermal hydration for up to nine months after just one treatment (as compared to multiple serum treatments).
  • Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra Plus XC reduce moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth. It can also be used to plump lips.
  • Juvéderm Voluma XC can lift and define your cheekbones.
  • Juvéderm Vollure XC adds fullness and plumps thin lips.
  • Juvéderm Volbella XC adds subtle volume to your lips to smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines.

Dermal Filler Reviews in Malaysia

Mediviron UOA Review

I was there that day, as part of their blogger program, to review their dermal filler treatment.
One month after treatment: The filler on my chin has now deflated to about 50% of the initial outcome. The best results was seen immediately after the treatment and 14 days post that. The swelling of the injected area for the first few days contributes to the more prominent outcome initially. After 14 days, the effects of the filler would slowly deflate over time. For me, 2 months would be optimum and 3 months the maximum, before the fillers are absorbed in entirety. That said, this has nothing to do with the services of the aesthetic center, in this case, Mediviron, rather, the nature of dermal fillers itself.

Dr Rachel Chew Clinic Review

"I'm trying to achieve lesser makeup on my face, avoid concealer and too much of makeup. So i think aesthetic treatment might be the fastest solution for me to get rid of it.
Every individual is different, so it is hard to tell what treatment you need for your face.
In my case, Dr. Rachel Chew combine Hyaluronic Acid (dermal fillers) by Juvederm + Botox to achieve what i want"...

Nose Filler Malaysia
nose filler malaysia

Hyaluronic Acid filler was the one used on me. Its one of the best kinds to inject into the nose because our body naturally produces hyaluronic on its own so it’s not harmful and it will be absorbed by the body naturally. This kind of fillers usually lasts for 6-12 months depending on individuals and their body’s reaction towards it. People usually do this before a special occasion like weddings or what not, you know.. to have a sharper nose bridge to look prettier in photos la :p..

Premier Clinic Reviews from Bloggers:

Lucas had wanted a higher nose bridge and sharper nose features. Which is why Dr Kee chose to treat Lucas’ nose with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Dermal fillers is a wise choice as it is approved by the FDA and Ministry of Health Malaysia. The results are reversible and there are no long term complications.
Read about Lucas’ experience of nose enhancement on his blog:

Janice was keen to enhance the shape of her nose. She wanted a taller nose bridge and a sharper nose. That’s exactly what Dr Kee Yong Seng of Premier Clinic achieved for her via hyaluronic acid dermal fillers injection. For Janice, it took about 1 or 2 days for the swelling to go off after her nose filler injection. Most people are able to return to their daily routine immediately after treatment without any problems. Some redness, minor swelling or bruising may occur in the treatment area but this is easily hidden with make-up.

Check out Janice’s comments on her experience:

Isaac Tan visited us a couple of weeks ago to review some of the aesthetic procedures at Premier Clinic, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Dr Kee Yong Seng recommended a few procedures with minimal downtime and discomfort to help him look fresher and rejuvenated. Dr Kee performed undereye dermal fillers to help reduce the appearance of dark eye circles and eyebags. LED photomodulation and skin peel was also done on Isaac to help him achieve a healthy glow on his skin.
